Central Mums seeks to find the best child and family friendly spots on the Coast, by bringing you a short review of the places we find. This week, we look one of the beautiful beaches on the Coast, which is an ideal spot for families to enjoy.

We are spoilt for choice on the Central Coast for beautiful, safe and clean beaches, with many being family friendly. However, some can get large surf and strong rips, making them difficult for young children to enjoy a swim in.

This week, we checked out Toowoon Bay, a stunning beach between Shelly Beach and The Entrance. It's calm waters and easy access make it a great spot to visit for your family's next beach trip.

Parking is available right out the front of the surf club or just up the hill. Before heading down to the beach, be sure to check out the awesome playground at Swadling Reserve. The kids will have a ball and you can make use of one of the many shaded picnic benches or BBQs.

Once you head onto the beach, find a spot to put your things and enjoy the many areas of the water to cool off. There's a patrolled flag section with small surf, perfect for kids on their body boards and rock pools offering still and clear water; great for a bit of snorkelling.

Up at the surf cafe, you'll find showers to wash sandy toes and an awesome little cafe to refuel after a busy time at the beach. There's also a large toilet block up at the reserve car park.

We highly recommend checking out this beach for a fun family outing.
