Terrigal is one of the Central Coast's most popular beachside suburbs, amongst locals and tourists. Terrigal is situated between North Avoca and Wamberal beaches, and is a 10 minute drive to Erina Fair shopping centre and a 20 minute drive to Gosford train station. It has plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and good schools, as well as the stunning beach, of course.
So what does Terrigal have to offer for families?
Terrigal doesn't have a train station, though Gosford station (with fast trains running to Sydney and Newcastle) is only a 20 minute drive away. Buses also go through Terrigal to take passengers to surrounding suburbs, as well as Erina Fair and Gosford station.
Terrigal Beach is a a patrolled beach with calmer surf than other surrounding beaches, making it a great spot for young children. There is a wide area in front of the beach with plenty of room for kids to ride bikes, and parents pushing prams.
If you follow the path south around the corner towards the rocks you'll also find Terrigal rock pool, a small enclosed ocean pool, perfect for little ones to splash around in.
Over the hill is the idyllic Haven too, a beautiful beach with calm waters, plus plenty of grassed areas for picnics and ball games. If you're want to get some exercise while out with the kids, you can walk up The Skillion for panoramic ocean views and maybe even some whale watching.

Terrigal has lots of different shops, ranging from boutique locally owned businesses, gift stores, a small grocery store, newsagents and a pharmacy. Check out these beautiful children's stores too: The Spinning Top, Zarlak Kids and Precious Little.
Terrigal is full of cafes and restaurants to choose from, you'll be spoiled for choice! Some offer casual dining, quick takeaway food or fine dining on a waterfront location. Here's a few of our favourites:
