Camping is a great way to get away for a mini break and spend time with the family outdoors. However, if you're not keen on pitching a tent and sleeping on the floor, or maybe you're looking for something a little different, perhaps consider "Glamping". Experience a touch of luxury on a campsite, let someone else do all the hard work for you and enjoy a comfortable nights sleep in a "Glent" (glamorous tent).

Heres's a couple of locations in and around the Central Coast which offers Glamping:

1. NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park, Umina

A Central Coast favourite amongst families, Ocean Beach Holiday Park in Umina is a fantastic place to stay, with awesome activities and facilities plus right on the beach.

For Glamping, you can book to stay in one of their Safari Palm Tents, which can sleep up to 4 guests on a queen bed and one single bunk. They also feature a kitchenette, dining area, bathroom, veranda with BBQ and outdoor dining area, plus a sofa and TV with Foxtel! You'll forget you're in a tent once inside!

2. Elebanah, Avoca Beach

Located in a beautiful location in the forest but close by to the popular Avoca Beach, you'll find Elebanah, where you can Glamp in a Bohemian style "glent", with a king sized bed. Elebanah like to call it "Rustic Camping" and visitors can enjoy the peace and serenity, book in for a massage or head out for a spectacular coastal bush walk. A fire circle can also be arranged, upon request, should you want a proper campfire experience.

3. Go Glamping

If you'd rather choose your own camping spot, whether that be at one of these popular Central Coast camping locations, the Hunter Valley, or even in your own backyard, Go Glamping are a local company that can sort you out with all things Glamping to hire. They cater for family trips, birthday parties, weddings and more- you choose your campsite and let them take care of the rest.

Hire includes set up and pack down, plus linen, bedding, a glamping survival kit and much more.

For Glamping options just out of the Central Coast:

4. Roar and Snore, Taronga Zoo, Sydney

For the ultimate wild experience, have a sleepover at the wonderful Taronga Zoo in Sydney, where you can sleep in a purpose built tent within the zoo! An overnight stay includes a buffet dinner and a continental breakfast, plus interactive keeper experiences and an opportunity to experience the zoo with only a few other guests.

The accommodation is a glamping style tent which can sleep up to 4 guests and has electricity. There is an onsite amenities block with toilets and showers.

5. Cockatoo Island Glamping, Sydney Harbour

Make the most of staying on the picturesque Sydney harbour by letting someone else do all the hard work for you. Arrive at your Harbourside location on Cockatoo Island to find your glamping site awaiting you! You can hire either a one or two bedroom tent, which will be all set up and complete with bedding. There is an onsite camp kitchen area, toilets and hot showers available for guests.
