Forgotten Anniversary

Hi all,

I am unsure if I am right in feeling like this.

So this past week was our 4th wedding anniversary and my hubby forgot, shocking I know 🙄, however this will be the 4th anniversary he has forgotten.

I knew coming up to it that he had forgotten or was seeming to have but was letting it go as he may have had a surprise or something.

The first year he had forgotten but tried to get out of it by saying 'but I thought you didn't do things like this' meaning gifts for occasions other than bday Xmas - I was no that valentine day I do really believe in or care about (though I still get him chocolates he can ignore it I don't care)
2nd year he straight up forgot
Last year I can understand as our best man past away 4 days before our anniversary and he had been at the hospital with her for the past 3 weeks.
This year again he straight up forgot again. He has never apologised (apart from an 'I'm sorry I suck and am a disappointment' when he thought I was asleep) and has just ignored that he has forgotten. I don't want a oh crap I forgot bunch of flowers or anything.

I don't care about not getting gifts or lavish dinners or anything like that, all I really care about is if he says' I love you happy anniversary' yet I don't want to have to remind him even though I did 6 weeks ago (accidentally)

The part that hurts me is that I knew he forgot and it is still such a blow even though I knew it was coming. The disappointment I feel is horrible because he does such for us and is absolutely a great father and I feel that 'another day' shouldn't matter, yet it was him who took 4 years to convince me to marry him saying that it was very important to him, I never wanted or needed the piece of paper.
