October 7th: Go Wild With Paint Held at Umina Library from 10am to 11:30am, for kids aged 8-12. Create a canvas masterpiece using natural materials and paint.
October 8th: The Nutcracker at the Arthouse See the 2pm matinee or 8pm evening showing of this classic children’s ballet which will get you into the Christmas spirit. Tickets start at $18.
October 9th: Inflatable Fun Zone at Hunter Valley Gardens Take a day trip to the Hunter for the huge inflatable obstacle course set up in the gardens. The zone opened on the 24th September but the 9th October is the last day it will be open before the school term starts. There’s 5 different zones plus a jumping castle, slide and a special area for kids under 6. Tickets are $18 per child or you can buy family passes for 2 adults and 2 children for $65.
October 15th: Mad Hatters Tea Party for Kids Held at Julie Goodwin’s cooking school Julie’s Place in North Gosford from 11am to 1pm, this is a special high tea event just for kids. Tickets are $45 each and include yummy treats served with juice or milkshakes, and a goody bag for each child. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent but children 8 and over can attend on their own.
October 16th: Fair By The Sea Our Lady Star of the Sea Primary School in Terrigal’s annual school fete. Held from 8am-2pm, there will be rides, stalls, raffles, games and a Kids Creative Corner with face painting, hair spray, plaster casts and tattoos.
October 19th: Bring Your Baby Expo This expo is being held at Event Cinemas in Tuggerah from 10am to 1pm, featuring local businesses with products and services for families. A screening of Bridget Jones Baby will be shown after the Expo finishes with $10 discounted tickets.
October 20th: Wicked at the Laycock Theatre This production is being performed by the Gosford Musical Society starting on October 20 and running until November 12th. Tickets are $50 each.
October 22nd: Cars Disco at Club Mingara Held from 7pm-10pm in The Playhouse. Kids can dress up as their favourite Cars character – Lightning McQueen, Mater or Sally Carrera! There will be games, and a treasure hunt. Call the club on 4349 7799 to make a booking.
October 28th: Fire & Rescue Family Fun Night at The Entrance Held from 5pm-9pm in Memorial Park, this free event will be a hit with any little ones obsessed with fire engines. Kids can look inside the trucks and enjoy the fireworks display afterwards.
October 29th: Spring Fair & Open Day at Lakes Grammar Held from 10am-2pm at Lakes Grammar in Warnervale, the event is incorporating a community fun run with tours of the school for parents considering sending their children to the school and the fair. Unlimited ride passes are available for $35 for the dodgem cars, tea cups, chair ride, mega slides, jumping castle and funhouse.
October 30th: Superhero Stride at The Entrance The Superhero Stride is a 3km fundraiser walk along The Entrance Foreshore, for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, aimed at people of all ages and fitness levels. Registration is $10 per child and $15 per adult and participants are encouraged to dress as superheroes. After the walk, there will be entertainment at Memorial Park such as carnival rides, a petting zoo, face painting and kids can have their photos taken with their favourite superheros.
