Enlarged tonsils

My daughter is 10 and is currently on the waitlist to have her tonsils out (public). But my question is, is there anything I can do to fast-track the wait time? She has enlarged tonsils normally but they are getting swollen every couple of weeks now and it's affecting her going to school and playing sports but more importantly she is in so much pain. Also trying not to give her antibiotics all the time is hard because her tonsils are so enlarged I just want to help her
Also, any tip on pain management will be great, she is currently eating soft warm/cold foods noodles, ice cream etc
