The New Year is fast approaching- time to start planning your family's celebrations. There are some fantastic New Years Eve events taking place around the Coast that are family friendly and promise to kick your 2018 off with bang!

Check out these awesome local events for bringing in the New Year:

Location: Gosford

The festival will begin with the Races at The Entertainment Grounds, where gates open at 12pm, for an afternoon of races and kids entertainment.

Head across to the Waterfront at Gosford from 5pm to enjoy an evening of lively entertainment, live music and food stalls. Kids will love the carnival rides and the night will finish with a bang from an awesome fireworks display at 9.15pm.

Location: Terrigal Beach

Locals have been working hard this year to revive this exciting event; Terrigal is bringing back fireworks for New Years Eve on the beach foreshore! Not just what promises to be a spectacular fireworks display, but organisers have also put together a night of festivities, kids entertainment, food and markets.

The popular Terrigal Markets will be open from 5pm, offering over 30 different stalls to browse, whilst you wait for the 9pm fireworks display.

Location: The Entrance

This fun event starts at 6pm and will be a night of festivities and celebration. Enjoy a variety of entertainment, activities and live music down at The Entrance. Enjoy the delicious food being served along the food alley and get ready for a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm.

Looking to travel further afield? These events, happening in Sydney and other areas surrounding the Coast, are perfect for a family friendly New Years Eve:

Location: Australian National Maritime Museum, Darling Harbour

For a magical New Years Eve your family wont forget, check out the celebrations happening at the Australian National Maritime Museum. Very kid friendly with character performers, a bubble artist and face painters, plus a tasty gormet BBQ and access to an exclusive foreshore zone for the 9pm Cockle Bay fireworks.

New Years Eve In Newcastle
Location: Newcastle Harbour, Newcastle

Celebrate the New Year at the family friendly event in Newcastle. Enjoy mouth watering food from a huge selection of food vans. Dance and sing along to a fantastic line up of live music. Kids will enjoy decorating their own lantern to participate in the lantern parade.

The night finishes with a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm, in Griffiths Park, Stockton.
