Following on from our
Top 5 Central Coast Playgrounds Next To Cafes article, we thought we'd bring you more of our favourite playgrounds from around the Coast, which are definitely worth a visit with your little ones.
Wamberal Park in Wairakei Road
1. Wamberal Park
Location: Wairakei Road, Wamberal
Facilities: Toilets, Picnic benches
Wamberal Park is a popular one amongst locals, with a variety of play structures and open green spaces to amuse the kids. It's famous for its long flying fox, which will send riders whizzing through the air! The large spider web is fun for testing out climbing skills and children of all ages will enjoy the main climbing frame and slide, plus the surrounding roundabout, ride on grasshopper and swings.
Surrounding the playground is plenty of grassy, shaded spots to meet friends and have a picnic or even host your child's next birthday party. There's a toilet block situated in the park as well as a selection of fixed fitness equipment, should you feel like a work out whilst the kids play.
Davistown Pirate Park
2. Davistown Pirate Park
Location: Illoura Reserve, Davistown
Facilities: Toilets, benches
Situated in a picturesque location on the waterfront at Davistown is the wonderful Pirate Park. The kids will love the huge pirate ship structure and can climb, crawl, jump and swing the day away! There's plenty of bench seats for parents, a new toilet block and a huge grassy area for running around on.
Set right on the water, watch the resident ducks swimming past or take the kids down to play on the little beach area. During the summer months, there's a large fenced area in the water if you fancy a swim!
The Entrance Foreshore Playground
3. The Entrance Foreshore Playground
Location: The Entrance Foreshore
Facilities: Cafes, restaurants and toilets nearby
Located in the popular beachside town of The Entrance is a brand new playground, with a beautiful backdrop of the water and plenty of cafes and restaurants surrounding it. Kids will love the variety of play equipment to play on, such as mini trampolines, spider web nets, mound slides and rock walls.

Elizabeth Ross Park
4. Elizabeth Ross Park
Location: Albert Street, East Gosford
Facilities: Picnic benches, BBQ. Toilet and Cafe located in neighbouring Japanese Gardens
This playground is fantastic and suits kids of all ages. Older children will have a fantastic time zooming along the flying fox zip line or climbing up and through the spiderwebs. Younger children will adore the delightful ladybird slide and mini swing and everyone will love the newly installed large swing. There's also sculptures to climb on, tunnels to crawl through and mushroom stools to explore and enjoy.
There's plenty of grassy areas and picnic benches to use as well as shade from the many trees. We also recommend checking out the neighbouring
Edogawa Commemorative Gardens too.
5. Kibble Park Playground
Location: William Street, Gosford
Facilities: Toilets and Seating. Shops and Cafes located throughout town centre
Kibble Park is a great little spot for kids to play and to meet friends at if you're heading into the town centre at Gosford. Before you head into the shops, let the kids burn off some energy on the play structures, which will hopefully mean a less stressful shopping trip! The library, Gosford station, plus a variety of shops and cafes are all close by too.
6. Bushlands Reserve Playground
Location: Bushlands Avenue, Springfield
Facilities: Picnic benches
Get ready to whizz down the incredibly long slide at this playground! Kids will have a ball racing down it; it's sure to be a favourite. There's plenty to do to keep everyone amused, such as a bus to play on, roundabouts, swings and a ride on bouncer.
There's also a wonderful bike track around the playground, which is great for practicing bike or scooter skills. The park also has fitness equipment, however no toilets, so keep that in mind when you visit.
7. Avoca Beach Playground
Location: 3 Avoca Drive, Avoca Beach
Facilities: Fenced, Benches and Toilets and Cafe nearby
Avoca Beach is always a hit with the kids, whether you head to the beach, the delightful rock pool or one of the many family friendly cafes, the whole family will have a ball. There's also a fantastic fenced playground right behind the surf club, meaning once you're done at the beach, you can always head here after for a play.
It's a great playground for younger children, with ride on diggers to shovel sand, a boat and surf board to have a ride on, a fun climbing structure and plenty of swings. There's also a large spiderweb climbing frame for older kids to have fun trying to reach the top!
Lions Park Long Jetty
8. Lions Park
Location: 418 The Entrance Road, Long Jetty
Facilities: Toilets, BBQ, Picnic Benches
Blast off into space at this playground in Long Jetty, with its huge space rocket play structure sure to delight any child! Once they've climbed up the ladder, they'll have fantastic fun zooming down the big slide that comes off of the space rocket.
There's more fun to be had in this playground, such as the whizzing round ride (that kids make move by spinning themselves), a smaller climbing structure for younger children and swings.
