That time of the year is almost here once again. Time to dig out the Aussie flags, crack open some beers and fire up the BBQ to celebrate Australia Day!

If you're looking to head out to an Australia Day event on the Central Coast this year, check out these family friendly ones. From firework displays, live music entertainment, jumping castles, carnival rides and even thong throwing competitions, we've got you sorted for all the best Coast events this Australia Day:

Australia Day at The Entrance
Where: Memorial Park, The Entrance
When: Friday 26th January
Time: 12pm-9pm

This family friendly event at The Entrance is not one to be missed. With a great musical line up on the main stage with headliner Ash Grunwald, a special native flower themed "Lawn Game Zone" and a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm, its set to be a fun day out to celebrate Australia Day. Kids can also enjoy the nearby waterpark and playgrounds, plus the whole family can have fun on the carnival rides.

Australia Day at Woy Woy
Where: Woy Woy
When: Friday 26th January
Time: 2pm-9.30pm

Enjoy a day of entertainment, including an awesome line up of music performers on the main stage, where Dragon will be headlining. There'll be free entertainment for kids and food and market stalls to enjoy. During the day, kids can make their own lantern, which can later be used in the beautiful lantern parade. Make sure you don't miss the procession of boats as they glide down the channel, plus hang around for the event finishing fireworks display at 9.15pm.

Australia Day Extravaganza
Where: Gosford Waterfront Carnival
When: Friday 26th January
Time: From 2pm

For fun, games and rides this Australia Day, head along to the carnival down at Gosford Waterfront. Enjoy hilarious friendly competitions, such as a lamington eating competition and a best dressed prize, plus a sausage sizzle, a visit from Paw Patrol as well as all the awesome rides, there'll be something for the whole family.

Celebrate this Australia Day at Gosford RSL, where you'll be treated to live music, a jumping castle for the kids and a delicious Aussie BBQ Spit.

Australia Day Wyong Milk Factory
Where: Wyong Milk Factory

Time: 11am-3pm

For a fun day for the whole family, check out this Aussie Day event at the Wyong Milk Factory. Celebrate all things Australian with kayak and boat races, thong throwing competitions, donut eating contests, plus delicious Aussie food and live music and entertainment, everyone will have fun.

Australia Day in Newcastle
Where: Newcastle Foreshore

If you're heading up to Newcastle this Australia Day, there's plenty happening to suit everyone. Check out the Australian Formula Powerboat GP (which also continues the following day), a solo acrobatic airshow performance or join in the Australia Day Newcastle Harbour Swim. Fort Scratchley, in Newcastle's East, is having an open day this Australia Day, where everyone can enjoy a family friendly day out with spectacular views over the city. Don't miss the firing of the guns at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

There's plenty of awesome family friendly events happening in Sydney this Australia Day. Enjoy the traditional Wugulora Morning Ceremony at Barangaroo Reserve, dance along to The Wiggles Australia Day concerts or enjoy a street party in The Rocks.

Kids will love the Summer Playground events and activities at Darling Harbour, which include learning circus skills and playing true blue bush games.

In the evening, enjoy spectacular fireworks display in Circular Quay, as well as harbour parades and jet ski shows.
