Last year I packed up my things and and my 14 month left my abusive ex partner. I pressed charges and I'm still in the progress of that a year later. A restraining order was put on my ex for me but unfortunately they couldn't add my son too it because he hasn't hurt him before. My ex hasn't seen my son in over a year. My son had no idea Who his dad is and to be quiet honest I think that's for the best.
In March I decided that I've had enough of where I was living. Felt uneasy. Unsafe and quiet scared for my safety and my sons safety. I'm not scared of my ex as a person I'm scared of his actions because they are unpredictable and dangerous if he is in a bad mood. Either way I've packed up and moved states to be with my current bf. The father is unaware. I just want to know if anyone else has done this what happened and how they went about it. I honestly don't think he try to see my son because he has another one he hasn't seen since he was little he is now 7. I'm so much happier over here I'm thriving my mental health is so much better and my son is also thriving and is getting the help he needs too. Life is so much better when you able to walk out of the house and not being scare of who is watching you or who you are going to see when you go to the shops.
Sorry it's long had a lot I needed to get out.
